How to Choose the Right Moisturizer For You?

You guys know how much I love skincare and how important it is to me because of the acne struggles I have been through in the past. Everybody needs to moisturize their skin because after cleansing your face, your skin is stripped of it natural oils. That is why I decided to write this post to help you guys when you are choosing the right moisturizer for you. Asking yourself the below questions will help you figure out what to look for when you are searching for a moisturizer.

  1. You need to know what your skin type is!

This will help you decide on the type of moisturizer to get that is right for your skin. Are you mostly dry to normal or are you mostly oily or have combination skin?

  2. How do you like your skin too feel after applying your moisturizer?

Depending on your skin type you may want extra moisture or you may want a light feel, like there is nothing there.

  3. How does your skin change throughout the day?

Your skin might start to get dry and patchy as the day goes on, or may start to get oiler and shiny.

  4. How much time and patience do you have with your skin care?

Some moisturizers need time to skin in and absorb into your skin and some will absorb into your skin quickly.

  5. How do you feel about primers?

Do you always use a primer before makeup or do you prefer that your moisturizer does both prime and moisturize?

I have recently been trying the Olay Regenerist Whip Moisturizer and it makes my skin feel so good. Based on the questions above, it is the right one for my skin type. I wanted to compare it to the Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Cream for those whose skin type might suit it better.

Olay Regenerist Whip Moisturizer

This moisturizer works for me because I have combination skin and it is a light, breathable moisturizer that leaves a matte finish. If you have normal, oily and combination skin then it will work for you too.

The Olay Regenerist Whip moisturizer feels like nothing is there after applying and it does not make my skin feel shinier throughout the day. I tend to get oily in my t-zone so this helps keep my skin matte without having to touch up with a powder. With baby Liam, sometimes I need something quick that primes and hydrates my skin in the morning quickly so that I can apply my makeup right away and this moisturizer does that for me. I love the texture of it, it literally feels like whipped cream and smells so yummy!

If you are the opposite of my skin time and have more dry and normal skin, then the Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Cream is better for you. It is a rich, nourishing moisturizer.

If you like your skin to feel richly moisturized after applying and your skin starts to gets dry and parched throughout the day, then this will help your skin so much.

It is meant to give you long-lasting hydration, while also softening the look of fine lines and wrinkles and visibly firming skin with plumping hydration. If you have a little extra time in the morning, it is best to use this moisturizer because it takes a minute or so to fully absorb into the skin.

I hope this helped you think about what moisturizer might work best for you. Let me know what moisturizer you use in the comments and if you have tried any of these Olay moisturizers. :)

Love,

Hanan
